What does it take to be a training provider to today’s corporations?

cornerstones of the relationships we build with our clients.
While
clients always have one primary point of contact, if there
is an emergency and a client needs assistance quickly, all
CompuWorks’ staff members take responsibility to get
the job done. CompuWorks also recognizes that our customers
are not merely our training contacts within our clients’ organizations.
Our primary clients are the students. Our trainers are empowered
to go above and beyond to make sure students are enjoying
their classroom experience and, most importantly, to make
sure they are learning. |

How do you describe flexibility? The best way is probably with an example. A client recently wanted to conduct a 2-day class but they wanted to do it in 3-hour increments. No problem, we logically broke out the class outline in six, 3-hour modules and scheduled them across a three week period. The client also wanted to conduct the class at their site but they didn’t have a training room available for the classes. No problem, CompuWorks set up the classes on site using one of our many portable classes. In this case, since the classes had to be setup and broken down with each 3-hour class, we used a laptop lab instead of a full desktop computer lab. Oh, and the client also decided a week before the training that the class would be for twenty students instead of the original twelve. No problem, we grabbed extra laptops from another portable lab and sent them with a secondary trainer who supported the primary trainer, making sure that all students were keeping up with the material.
In the past year CompuWorks has created the following for several of our clients: a customized on-line evaluation program, designed and staffed a “How to” application help desk, wrote curriculum for a custom web-based application, designed and developed custom e-Learning for internal applications as well as projects, and began a training series conducted via WebEx for an international audience. We can’t wait for what opportunities this year will bring!
Nothing works without communication. Whether it is the communication that goes on within CompuWorks or the communication that occurs between CompuWorks and our clients, we take it very seriously and know that it's the first layer of a strong foundation in our relationship with our clients. We are able to be flexible with our clients because we listen to their needs and offer innovative and often unthought-of solutions. We are able to reduce errors and problems by clear communication of expectations with clients and with our staff. We are able to better educate our students by asking how they use the applications and then applying what we heard in class. Communication is what makes everything else work and we know it.
Education: This is it; this is what it’s all about. We do what we do because we love to watch people learn. Whether it’s done online or in a classroom or through a webinar, learning should be a joyful experience. Our love of learning shines through all we do and we believe, we know, this is why our clients come back to us year after year.
